Rules for a Relaxing Massage

1. Know that it is okay to be still.

2. Take ten slow mindful inhalations and ten releasing exhalations at the very beginning of your session.

3. Do not worry about things that are out of your control.

4. Make no apologies for your body’s way, shape, or form.

5. Treat your body with kindness, respect, and love.

6. Take time to thank each part of your body for all that it does for you.

7. Be patient with the process.

8. Communicate courageously with your therapist.

9. Do not feel compelled to conversation or to silence.

10. Give yourself permission to let go of stress, tension, and pain.
